The Fort Henry Buckskinners is a family oriented, non-profit, club. We are located in and around Southeast Idaho and anywhere else members want to live. This will be our 21st year in providing the Rendezvous experience. Each year we sponsor a “Student Rendezvous” near Rigby Idaho for the 4th grade school kids in Southeastern Idaho. We demonstrate different aspects of the trappers life and skills, trying to give the students a visual experience to go along with their study of Idaho history.
We hold an open Rendezvous the first full week in June. This Rendezvous is located at the actual site of Camp Henry, which was where Andrew Henry and his trapping party spent the winter of 1810. One of the rocks with their names chiseled into it is still at the site. This Rendezvous is open to the public. There is a primitive camp as well as a tin tepee camp with a variety of traders and exhibits. There is an outstanding woods walk shoot, hawk and knife course, blanket shoot, primitive archery, and several other competitions. We hope to get an atl-atl competition started this year and develop more competitions for the young-uns. Come by and say HOWDY.
